We are seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated Business Studies Teacher to join the team at Stranraer Academy. This is an exciting opportunity to inspire and engage young learners, fostering their understanding of the dynamic world of business, finance, and enterprise.
You will be responsible for delivering high-quality Business Studies education across all stages of the secondary school curriculum. You will create engaging lesson plans, contribute to faculty initiatives, and support students to achieve their full potential both academically and personally.
Stranraer Academy is a modern six-year comprehensive, non-denominational secondary school serving the area of Wigtownshire called the Rhins. It is one of fifteen secondary schools in Dumfries and Galloway, with a current school roll of 1003 students. The school benefits from an active Parent Council and a large, enthusiastic staff. It features an extensive campus with generous playing fields and sports facilities.
The school is located in Stranraer, on the shore of Loch Ryan, the second largest town in Dumfries and Galloway, an area of outstanding natural beauty. The population of the area, including surrounding communities, is nearly 13,000. The town serves as an administrative centre for Wigtownshire. Main industries include the ferry port, tourism, and agriculture. The area offers good facilities, strong communities, and affordable housing, with convenient road and rail links to Dumfries and Glasgow.
