The Division of Adult Institutions is currently recruiting for a Bricklaying & Masonry Teacher vacancy. This position is based out of Kettle Moraine Correctional Institution located in Plymouth, WI (Sheboygan County).
Position Summary
This position will provide Bricklaying and Masonry instruction to KMCI inmate students to meet their vocational needs. Curriculum will include instruction in: Industry Overview; Design and Layout; Materials; Lay to Level, Plumb, and Height; Tool Mortar Joints; Methods of Cleaning Masonry/ Construct Walls; Construct Various Types of Corners; Build Various Bearing Members; Construct Free-Standing Chimney; Construct Ornamental Masonry; Lay Brick in Different Bonds & Patterson; Use of Anchors, Fasteners & Reinforces. Responsibilities include completing all required documentation of student assessment/progress and other reporting requirements; coordinating student enrollment for technical college credit; monitoring and managing student behavior, reviewing, updating, and implementing approved curriculum, lesson plans and teaching strategies; providing shop and related classroom or individualized instruction; preparing materials lists and cost estimates for supplies; conducting regular inspections of all shop tools, materials, and equipment to maintain a safe and secure workplace environment.
Salary Information
Starting salary for this position is between $29.13 and $34.03 per hour, plus excellent benefits. Candidates may receive supplemental pay, up to $2.97/hr., for additional credits relevant to the position that are over & above the credits needed for certification.
Pay upon appointment will be in accordance with language in the Compensation Plan, Statutes, and Administrative Code. This position is in pay schedule/range 13-04. A twelve-month probationary period is required.

Job Details
Applicants must be legally entitled to work in the United States (i.e., a citizen or national of the U.S., a lawful permanent resident, an alien authorized to work in the U.S. without DOC sponsorship) at the time of application. The Department of Corrections will conduct criminal background checks on applicants prior to selection to determine whether the circumstances of any conviction may be related to the job being filled. Upon hire, all new DOC employees are subject to fingerprinting.
The Department of Corrections may conduct pre-employment drug screens. Any applicant who is offered employment in a position which requires a pre-employment drug screen must pass the screen as a contingency to employment.

Minimally qualified applicants must meet criteria determined by the Wisconsin Technical College System for Bricklaying/Masonry (# 408) as outlined below.
To meet the Wisconsin Technical College System (WTCS) instructional requirements for this occupational Teacher position, a candidate must meet the education and occupational requirements below to qualify.
