Job summary

Nottingham City Council is seeking an Inclusive Learning Teacher/Adviser to support children and young people in overcoming barriers to learning within the INclude Service. You will provide specialist teaching and targeted support, working with schools to implement inclusive practices for SEND and related needs, while driving collaborative work with health and social care partners.

The role emphasises safeguarding, equality, diversity and inclusion, with a flexible, hybrid working arrangement

Qualifications

  • Qualified Teacher Status and significant experience in mainstream or special education.
  • Strong understanding of inclusive educational practice and national developments.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to work with schools, families and partners.
  • Good IT skills and ability to use digital systems effectively.
  • Ability to work flexibly, manage priorities and meet deadlines.
  • Strong organisational and problem-solving skills.
  • Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle for work.
  • A DBS enhanced check is required for this post.

Responsibilities

About The Role

Inclusive Learning Teacher / Adviser


Are you passionate about helping children and young people overcome barriers to learning and achieve their full potential?


We are looking for a skilled and committed professional to join our INclude Service. In this rewarding role, you will work directly with children and young people, providing specialist teaching and targeted support to help them overcome barriers to learning and engage successfully in education. You will also work alongside schools and education settings, offering expert advice and guidance to develop inclusive practices for children and young people with SEND and social, emotional, and behavioural needs. Through direct intervention, assessment, and collaborative working, you will help ensure that every child has the opportunity to thrive, achieve positive outcomes, and reach their full potential.


Working collaboratively with education, health, and social care partners, you will support schools to remove barriers to learning, improve outcomes, and promote positive educational experiences for all learners. You will also contribute to service development, staff training, and the continuous improvement of inclusive provision across Nottingham city.


The successful candidate will be an experienced educator with excellent communication skills, a strong commitment to safeguarding, equality, diversity and inclusion, and a passion for driving positive change for children and young people.

About You

The ideal candidate will have:



  • Qualified Teacher Status

  • Several years experience in mainstream or special education

  • Strong understanding of inclusive educational practice and current national developments, including recent Department for Education reforms and guidance.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with schools, families and multi-agency partners.

  • Good IT skills, including the ability to use Microsoft Office applications and digital systems effectively.

  • Ability to work flexibly, manage competing priorities and meet tight deadlines.

  • Strong organisational and problem-solving skills

  • Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle for work purposes.

  • A DBS enhanced check for a regulated activity is required for this post.
