Job description

  • Plan, prepare, and deliver high-quality Art lessons in line with the national curriculum and departmental schemes of work.

  • Teach across Key Stages 3 and 4 (and Key Stage 5 if applicable).

  • Encourage creativity and independent thinking through a range of artistic techniques and media.

  • Develop and maintain a stimulating classroom and studio environment that celebrates student work.

  • Prepare students for GCSE and/or A-Level examinations, including assessment, feedback, and moderation.

  • Organise and contribute to art exhibitions, displays, and enrichment activities.

  • Differentiate lessons to meet the needs of all learners, including those with SEND and EAL.

  • Keep accurate records of pupil progress and provide constructive feedback to students and parents.

  • Work collaboratively with colleagues across the department and wider school.

  • Uphold the school's safeguarding, behaviour and equal opportunities policies.

Essential Requirements

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.

  • Degree in Art, Fine Art, or a related discipline.

  • Strong subject knowledge, including practical skills and art history.
