Job summary

Shrewton C of E Primary School is seeking a dedicated Primary School Teacher to join our friendly team from January 2027, teaching Years 3 and 4. We aim to foster a warm, inclusive classroom where every child can thrive and develop a love of learning.

We value creativity, community involvement and strong relationships with families. The successful candidate will uphold our Church of England ethos, work collaboratively with staff, and contribute to the school's wider life and wellbeing

Qualifications

  • Holds Qualified Teacher Status or a recognised teaching qualification.
  • This post is suitable for ECTs.
  • Experience teaching primary Years 3–4 is desirable.

  • Teach and inspire pupils in Years 3 and 4 with engaging, inclusive lessons.
  • Plan and deliver high-quality lessons that foster curiosity and confidence.

Shrewton C of E Primary School is looking for an enthusiastic, caring and committed Primary School Teacher to join our friendly team from January 2027, teaching children in Years 3 and 4.

Situated in a small village, our school is proud of its strong community feel. We are looking for a teacher who will embrace school life, build positive relationships with our children and families, and bring energy, creativity and enthusiasm to the classroom.

This is a wonderful opportunity for a teacher who is passionate about helping children to thrive academically, socially and personally.

About the role

The successful candidate will:

  • Teach and inspire pupils in Years 3 and 4 and children across the school, providing engaging and inclusive learning opportunities.
  • Plan and deliver high-quality lessons that encourage curiosity, confidence and a love of learning.
  • Create a warm, positive and supportive classroom environment where every child feels valued.
  • Recognise the individual strengths and needs of pupils and help every child to make good progress.
  • Assess and monitor children's learning and use this information effectively to inform future teaching.
  • Work closely and collaboratively with colleagues and contribute positively to the wider life of the school.
  • Develop strong relationships with parents, carers and members of our local community.
  • Support and uphold the Christian ethos and values of our Church of England school.
  • Take an enthusiastic role in school activities, events and the wider opportunities we provide for our children.
