Overview

Special Educational Needs Teacher- Lambeth

Are you a passionate and dedicated Special Educational Needs and Disabilities teacher? A specialist Special Needs school for children aged 3 to 19 years old in Lambeth is looking for a qualified teacher to start ASAP.

Responsibilities
  • Teach KS3 or KS4 pupils in Maths and Science.
  • Take pastoral responsibility for a KS4 form (form group of 10 pupils in year 10).
  • Plan own lessons and resources; cover ASDAN/PSHE for KS3/KS4 as needed.
  • Work primarily with KS3 or KS4 pupils in Maths and Science; Maths to GCSE level and Science to at least entry level.
  • Collaborate with 1–2 Teaching Assistants in each class to support learners.
  • Contribute to a positive school environment with strong SEN experience; SEN school experience preferred.
School context

The school is an all-through SEN school catering to students with Moderate Learning Difficulties (MLD) including Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD). They also take on a number of students with Complex Learning Needs. The school is well resourced and offers excellent support for staff and students, as well as CPD opportunities.

Requirements
  • Full-time position, 5 days per week; start as quickly as possible.
  • Strong SEN experience; experience of teaching in a SEN school preferred.
  • Must be able to teach Maths to GCSE level and Science to at least entry level.
  • Willingness to cover a few other periods each week in ASDAN/PSHE.
  • Pastoral responsibility for KS4 form.
