Salary: £21,501- £37,202 annually dependant on experience and qualifications

We're a leading organisation dedicated to provide exceptional care and support to children and young adults with complex needs associated with SEMH and Autism.

Welcome to Summergil House School! We're seeking passionate Teachers to help children with Autism thrive. Located in Presteigne, our school offers a unique environment with 18 acres of fields, woodlands, a stream, lake, swimming pool, and sports hall. You'll support our students in both structured and unstructured settings, helping them reach their full potential. Join us in creating a safe, vibrant space where children can learn, grow, and build lasting memories.

Responsibilities

Working as member of the education team you will play an active role in supporting the planning and development of programs that addresses the individual SEMH/ASD needs of our children and young people. With support and guidance from the Head of Education, you will work across all areas of our curriculum to deliver high quality teaching and learning opportunities to SEMH/ASD pupils.

Here, you will have the opportunity to work closely with a fantastic team, ensuring the delivery of person-centred care that focuses on promoting independence and enhancing life skills. You will be required to set out individual learning pathways which support our pupil's potential to live more independently; developing academic, social, and personal skills; whilst paying close attention to the development of meaningful accredited and non-accredited learning schemes for all who attend our service.

We are seeking to recruit a candidate with a proven track record in the delivery of specialist education to SEMH/ASD pupils. This is a unique opportunity to work collaboratively with colleagues from across our other educational facilities.

A day in the life of a Teacher at Summergil House involves:

  • Providing high quality teaching and learning opportunities;
  • Providing structured learning opportunities through effective Classroom management;
  • Ensuring that all students are working towards their agreed accreditations;
  • Using a variety of teaching approaches and activities to develop students' learning.
Qualifications
  • Qualified Teacher (QTS) or NQT working towards QTS;
  • Knowledge of a variety of learning and development skills applicable to young people with complex, severe learning difficulties;
  • Experience of liaising with parents and external agencies and facilitating their active involvement with the pupil;
  • Please note: This job role involves regulated activity with adults and children and requires an enhanced DBS with barred list check.
