Job summary

Zest Education is partnering with secondary schools in Burton to place a dedicated teacher on a long-term basis. The role offers potential permanency for the right candidate and requires flexibility across subjects.

You will plan and deliver engaging lessons, monitor progress, and contribute to a positive classroom culture while collaborating with staff to achieve strong student outcomes.

Qualifications

• Qualified to teach at secondary level with QTS or ECT status.
• Ability to plan, deliver, and assess across multiple subjects.
• Proven classroom management and positive behaviour skills.
• Strong communication with students, parents, and colleagues.
• Flexible and responsive to different classes and needs.

Responsibilities

• Plan, prepare, and deliver high-quality lessons across a range of subjects.
• Teach across Key Stages 3 and 4 (and 5 where applicable).
• Create a positive, inclusive, well-structured learning environment.
• Manage classroom behaviour to maintain focus and progress.
• Assess, record, and report on student progress per school policy.
• Collaborate with colleagues and support staff to drive outcomes.
• Promote a positive attitude towards learning and school life.

By working closely with local schools, we ensure that teachers are placed in roles where they can thrive and make a real difference in the classroom.

We are currently seeking a passionate and flexible Teacher to join one of our partner schools on a long-term basis. This position offers the opportunity to support students across a range of subjects, with the potential for the role to become permanent for the right individual.

Key responsibilities include:

• Planning, preparing, and delivering high-quality lessons across a range of subjects
• Teaching across Key Stages 3 and 4 (Key Stage 5 where applicable, depending on experience)
• Creating a positive, inclusive, and well-structured learning environment
• Managing classroom behaviour effectively to maintain a focused and productive atmosphere
• Assessing, recording, and reporting on student progress in line with school policies
• Working collaboratively with colleagues and support staff to promote strong student outcomes
• Encouraging a positive attitude towards learning and school life

We are looking for someone who is:

• Passionate about education and committed to supporting student progress
• Qualified with QTS or ECT status
• Confident teaching a range of subjects at secondary level
• Adaptable and able to respond to different classes, subjects, and learning needs
• Committed to maintaining high standards of teaching and classroom management
• A strong team player with excellent communication and organisational skills
