Job summary

TCI Clerk

The Division of Surgery are looking to appoint a Trauma and Orthopaedics TCI Clerk on a full time basis to support the elective activity for day case and Inpatient admissions.

The successful candidate will have experience of using Cerner and ideally have TCI training, although this is not essential as training will be provided. They should have good people skills and be able to prioritise their own workload. Experience in a clinic setting would be an advantage.

Main duties of the job
  • Create, book, admit and discharge TCI encounters for patients.
  • Arrange the booking, reception and follow up outpatient appointments
  • Complete all required documentation and computer records.
  • Locate and request case notes as required and check for information regarding admission.
  • Send out admissions letters and deals with all relevant enquires from patients, relatives and GP's etc.
  • Deals with any difficulties relating to the admission of the patient, referring to a higher level if required.
  • Ensure clear communications with the consultant and their secretary.
  • Ensure cancelled appointments are refilled where possible by reviewing the waiting list.
  • Ensure strict monitoring of patients waiting times, i.e. targets to be achieved.
  • Liaise with multi-disciplinary staff regarding Consultants annual leave.
