A leading law firm is seeking to appoint a Trust & Tax Manager to join its expanding Private Wealth team in Manchester city centre. This is a fantastic opportunity for a private client specialist ready to progress their career in a supportive and dynamic environment.
About the Role:
This position involves working closely with senior lawyers on a broad range of trust administration, tax compliance, and estate planning matters. The successful candidate will manage their own portfolio while delivering a high-quality, personal service to a diverse client base. This is a collaborative role with scope for development and progression.
Key Responsibilities:
Manage a varied portfolio of trust and estate matters, including tax planning and compliance. Prepare trust accounts, tax returns, and inheritance tax forms, liaising with HMRC as required. Attend and minute trustee meetings, oversee trust distributions, and provide clear advice on trust deeds and investment policy statements. Maintain regular communication with clients and colleagues, contributing to billing and reporting. Mentor junior staff and share technical knowledge to support team growth.
Requirements:
Proven experience in private client work, with a focus on trusts and estate administration. Confident managing client relationships and working within a team. Excellent attention to detail and sound judgment, with a calm, methodical approach. Strong organisational and time-management skills. Familiarity with tax software such as CCH is advantageous but not essential. STEP qualification or equivalent professional tax accreditation preferred; equivalent practical experience will also be highly valued.
