Tax Team Lead About The Role

As Tax Team Lead you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the smooth delivery of client services while championing a culture of performance, quality, and growth. Working closely with senior stakeholders, responsibilities include:

  • Lead and motivate a client-focused team to deliver accurate, timely, and compliant tax services
  • Set and monitor team KPIs including productivity, quality, and client satisfaction
  • Foster a performance-driven culture that identifies and acts on opportunities to improve efficiency and enhance client value
  • Provide hands-on coaching, guidance, and support to team members, ensuring continuous development
  • Collaborate with other departments to ensure seamless client onboarding and service delivery
  • Oversee Self-Assessment return processes and ensure compliance with all relevant UK tax legislation
  • Analyse data and produce reports to support strategic decision-making and identify commercial opportunities

The successful Tax Team Lead will have:

  • Solid experience of working in a UK tax role within practice or a client-focused environment
  • A good understanding of UK tax legislation, with the ability to apply it in a practical, client-friendly way
  • Experience of supporting or mentoring colleagues, with the ambition to take on formal leadership responsibilities
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Commercial awareness and the confidence to identify opportunities to add value for clients
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to build rapport and trust quickly
  • A proactive, solutions-focused mindset and the drive to deliver high-quality results
