Job summary

eps.recruitment is seeking an experienced Tax Supervisor in Watford to manage a varied portfolio of personal and corporate clients, including family companies. You will review colleagues' returns, provide advisory input, and progress towards an assistant manager role with study support.

You’ll work with Income Tax, Corporation Tax and Capital Gains Tax, with exposure to VAT a bonus. A proactive, client-focused technical reference is essential.

Qualifications

• Several years' experience in a tax department within an accountancy practice.
• Solid experience across Income Tax, Corporation Tax and Capital Gains Tax; exposure to Inheritance Tax or VAT is a bonus
• ATT or CIOT qualified, or working towards it, is preferred but not essential
• Strong, up-to-date technical knowledge and a genuine interest in keeping current with legislation
• Confident communicator, comfortable with clients from a range of backgrounds, in person and over Teams

Responsibilities

• Managing a portfolio of personal and company clients, preparing and submitting tax returns and keeping on top of statutory deadlines
• Reviewing tax returns prepared by other members of the tax team
• Providing tax compliance services and advice across a diverse client base
• Getting involved in more complex tax planning and advisory work, and spotting planning opportunities for clients
• Building strong relationships with clients and colleagues, and responding quickly to client queries
• Researching tax matters as they arise and helping draft technical advice
• Contributing ideas to develop the tax department's own processes
