We are looking for a Senior Manager to join our National Markets regions in any of the following locations: Scotland (Glasgow and Edinburgh), North (Manchester, Leeds, Newcastle), Midlands (Birmingham), South (Reading and Bristol).

KPMG's Global Mobility Service (GMS) practice is a diverse and fast-growing area of our Tax business. We serve some of the biggest names, with high-profile engagements touching every corner of the world. Our GMS engagement teams are "360 degree service oriented," with tax technical, client development, and client-facing responsibilities as part of each successful Senior Manager's remit. The successful candidate will be a self-starter with a confident, outward-facing skillset, and who is willing to invest time and energy in the marketplace. We are looking for remarkable candidates, ready for early assumption of responsibilities and close, regular contact with our dynamic partner group.

Role and Responsibilities
  • Involvement with a wide range of clients with exposure to a variety of interesting and exciting work and projects
  • Manage the UK service delivery and/or the day-to-day global coordination of client engagements (dependent on the client portfolio), supported by a junior engagement team
  • Build, maintain, and lead strong relationships with clients
  • Be the day-to-day contact for allocated clients
  • Review of complex tax returns, and preparation/review of tax technical projects
  • Conduct VIP arrival/departure briefings
  • Lead client service teams, helping ensure they function smoothly and effectively
  • Preparation of written advice for clients, and helping to advise clients on GMS issues
  • Leadership of advisory projects carried out for clients
  • Ensure clients are provided with up-to-date information on relevant marketplace developments
  • Lead in business development/proposals
  • Manage and coach more junior staff
Qualifications and Skills
  • ATT/CTA qualified or equivalent professional qualification preferred but not mandatory
Experience and Background
  • Experience with UK technical expatriate tax background, including tax briefings, tax returns, and advisory
  • Experience managing global assignee populations and understanding immigration, social security, and compensation accumulation for different countries
  • Ability to effectively manage a busy portfolio of GMS clients and deliver technically accurate advice
  • Energetic, committed, and ambitious

  • Analytical skills to identify core issues, investigate, evaluate, and synthesize information
