Position Overview:

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented ‘Research and Development (R&D) Tax Credit Specialist’ to join our existing capital allowances team.

This role is part of a new service offering resulting from the recent merger of our Global project management business, aimed at providing comprehensive R&D tax credit consulting services to our clients.

The successful candidate will be responsible for identifying, analysing, and documenting R&D activities to maximise tax credit opportunities for our clients. This role requires a deep understanding of tax regulations, strong analytical skills, and the ability to communicate complex information effectively.

Key Responsibilities:

· Identify and Analyse R&D Activities: Collaborate with clients to identify qualifying R&D activities and projects. Conduct thorough analysis to ensure compliance with tax credit regulations.

· Documentation and Reporting: Prepare detailed documentation and reports to support R&D tax credit claims. Ensure all necessary information is accurately recorded and submitted.

· Client Consultation: Provide expert advice and guidance to clients on R&D tax credit eligibility and optimisation strategies. Address client inquiries and concerns promptly and professionally.

· Regulatory Compliance: Stay up to date with changes in tax laws and regulations related to R&D tax credits. Ensure all claims are compliant with current legislation.

· Cross-functional Collaboration: Work closely with internal teams, including finance, legal, and engineering, to gather relevant information and support R&D tax credit claims.

· Training and Development: Assist in training and mentoring junior staff on R&D tax credit processes and best practices.

· Business Development: Identify new business opportunities and develop strategies to expand the R&D tax credit service offering. Build and maintain strong relationships with potential clients and industry partners.

Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, Taxation, or a related field.

  • Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience in R&D tax credit consulting or related field. Experience with CBRE Turner & Townsend’s industry sectors is a plus.

  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint). Familiarity with R&D tax credit regulations and guidelines.

  • Analytical Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Ability to interpret complex tax laws and regulations.

  • Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Ability to present information clearly and concisely to clients and internal teams.

  • Attention to Detail: High level of accuracy and attention to detail in documentation and reporting.

  • Team Player: Ability to work effectively in a team environment and collaborate with colleagues across various departments.
