Qualifications

  • Strong working knowledge of trust taxation, IHT, and estate planning.
  • Considerable experience within an accountancy practice environment.
  • Solid knowledge of UK personal tax.
  • Experience dealing directly with clients and their legal representatives.
  • Confidence in reviewing and preparing trust accounts and SA900 returns.

Responsibilities

  • Managing a portfolio of individuals, partnerships, trusts and estates, overseeing both compliance and advisory work.
  • Preparing and reviewing self-assessment tax returns.
  • Supporting advisory work including capital gains tax, residence and domicile, property income, and business tax planning.
  • Preparing and reviewing trust and estate tax returns.
  • Providing IHT planning advice to clients, including support on lifetime giving strategies, estate planning, and IHT reliefs.

Bell Cornwall Recruitment are delighted to be working with a growing, reputable accountancy firm in the Edgbaston area of Birmingham. They are looking for an experienced and motivated Tax Semi Senior, ideally with specialist experience in trusts, estates, and inheritance tax (IHT).

The Role:
The Tax Semi Senior will work with a varied portfolio, contribute to advisory work, and navigate complex tax matters ensuring outstanding client service. Other duties and responsibilities include (but are not limited to):

  • Managing a portfolio of individuals, partnerships, trusts and estates, overseeing both compliance and advisory work.
