Tax Manager - Reward Advisory Services

Locations: Manchester, Birmingham, London, Bristol, Leeds, Sheffield, Liverpool, Glasgow, or Edinburgh

Our teams help individuals, businesses, and communities to do what is right and to achieve their goals. Our Reward Advisory Services (RAS) team is a vital part of our specialist Tax offering, working closely with clients to design and implement effective employee incentive schemes for mid-market clients, including private and PE-backed companies.

We are looking to expand our RAS practice with dedicated practitioners supported by our national RAS team and local stakeholders. We promote flexible working arrangements, including reduced hours and job shares, to help our staff balance work and life commitments.

Role Overview

As a Tax Manager in our Reward Advisory Services team, you will:

  • Provide technical reward advice to primarily mid-market clients, ensuring practical and commercial solutions.
  • Lead on equity reward projects, share plan implementations, and provide specialist tax support for transactions.
  • Engage in diverse projects such as tax-advantaged share plans, growth shares, cash plans, and transaction support.
  • Create tailored solutions considering clients' unique circumstances, offering technical insights and strategic advice.
  • Collaborate with other service lines across the network, including Corporate Finance, Valuations, and People Advisory.
  • Manage and mentor graduates and trainees, supporting their professional development.
  • Manage client accounts, nurture client relationships, and contribute to business development efforts.

Candidate Profile

To be successful, you should have:

  • Experience in tax, specifically in Equity Reward schemes.
  • Professional qualifications such as CTA, ATT, ACA, or equivalent, or be a qualified lawyer.
  • Strong technical knowledge in designing and implementing employee incentive plans.
  • Excellent client service skills and the ability to manage time effectively under tight deadlines.
  • Proactive project management skills, including billing and fee management.
  • Experience or interest in business development, with skills in document drafting, review, or modeling.
