The opportunity

This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated person to join EY’s specialist Funds Tax team based in Belfast. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work with our excellent existing clients and intermediaries, providing a great chance to build and expand their network and be instrumental in winning new business.

This is an excellent opportunity to join a fast-growing team with a supported flexible approach to working and proven progression potential. We are currently looking to expand our Funds Tax team and are keen to speak with experienced Tax advisors.

Your key responsibilities

  • Manage and deliver UK tax reporting and UK tax transaction analysis for private equity clients.
  • Support the development of junior team members through supervision, coaching, and mentoring.
  • Contribute to people initiatives, including retention and training.
  • Participate in business development opportunities.

Skills and attributes for success

  • Relevant tax experience in a similar role, with knowledge of UK and non-UK private equity houses.
  • Client-focused, strategic, and commercially aware; capable of managing client expectations and ensuring technical excellence.
  • Strong tax technical skills.
  • Excellent client relationship management skills.
  • Effective time management and ability to work under pressure.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Ability to plan, prioritize, and monitor work and budgets.
  • Ability to identify risks and know when to escalate.

Minimum qualifications

  • CTA / ACA / Law qualification or equivalent tax specialist qualification.
  • Experience coaching and developing junior staff.
  • Knowledge of partnership taxation and private equity funds.

Preferred qualifications

  • CTA preferred.
  • ATT/ACA/CA/ACCA with relevant tax experience.
  • Experience in managerial roles within private equity tax environment.

Additional skills

  • Project management skills.
  • Creative and pragmatic problem-solving abilities.
  • Experience with private equity fund compliance, transaction analysis, partnership computations, and investor reporting.
