About the role

We’re looking for a skilled Tax Manager to join our Finance Team in Bristol. In this pivotal role, you’ll support the Head of Corporate Finance Europe in ensuring tax and statutory compliance across our UK consolidated group, as well as our international subsidiaries and group companies in South Africa, Chile, Ireland, Spain, China, and Hong Kong.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage Corporate Tax and VAT compliance, including meeting all filing deadlines of the group and payments of taxes for Corporation Tax and VAT
  • Assist Head of Corporate Finance with overview of all tax compliance requirements
  • Review and preparation of quarterly UK VAT returns
  • Preparation and submission of corporation tax computations and returns for all group companies
  • Work with external advisors, thorough review and scrutiny of VAT, corporate income tax returns for overseas subsidiaries and operations
  • Preparation of tax calculations for month end, year-end group reporting, budgeting/forecast and statutory accounts and assist with managing tax cashflow
  • Review and approve monthly GL reconciliations for the tax accounts in the UK General Ledger
  • Manage and perform regular Senior Accounting Officer (SAO) testing on all taxes to support SAO certification
  • Review PAYE Settlement Agreement workings and return
  • Assist with preparation of transfer pricing calculations and compliance
  • Provide technical support and perform research on tax queries from the wider teams
  • Preparation of information to the tax authorities where required
  • Assist with collating information and managing Country-by-Country reporting and Pillar 2 compliance through working with internal teams and external advisors for the global group
  • Continuously improve and document procedures and controls for all aspects of the role and improve efficiency
  • Lead the Tax Team with hands-on guidance
  • Coach, manage and review work performed by the Tax team
  • Provide regular tax training to the wider business
  • Assist in management and preparation of statutory accounts and audits where required
  • Assist with any ad hoc queries/projects as required
What You’ll Bring
  • 5+ years relevant work experience
  • Experience in Corporation tax / VAT compliance
  • Good understanding of tax accounting and reporting requirements
  • Professional written and verbal communication skills
  • Experienced in excel and ERP system
  • Exposure to indirect taxes
  • Relevant qualification (ACA) UK, (CTA) UK, or ACCA
