A prestigious UK law firm is seeking an Associate for its Corporate Tax team in London. This role offers broad exposure to complex tax matters, including M&A and contentious tax challenges. Ideal candidates will have strong academics from a top law firm and experience in transactional settings. The firm provides a competitive salary, career development opportunities, and a collaborative environment.
We are working with a prestigious UK law firm with a leading corporate tax offering. The team advises on some of the most complex and high-profile tax matters in the market and is now looking to hire an Associate into its London office.
This is an opportunity to join one of the leading Corporate Tax teams in the City, which sits at the heart of this firm’s transactional practice and is central to delivering strategic and commercially focused tax advice.
As an overview of the whole team: the work spans corporate and private capital transactions - public and private M&A, IPOs, demergers, restructurings, returns of capital, joint ventures and bespoke private capital structuring. Associates also support the firm’s high-end finance and restructuring work, advising on corporate debt and equity instruments, as well as complex refinancing and restructuring solutions. The team is equally active across real estate tax, advising institutional investors, developers, lenders and fund managers on high-value property deals, and also handles contentious tax matters representing clients in large-scale, often multi-jurisdictional disputes involving HMRC.
At junior levels, Associates benefit from broad exposure across the range of work and Partners. At the mid-senior level, Lawyers begin to specialise according to their strengths and interests, often aligning with sectors or technical areas within the team.
Applicants should have strong academics and training from a leading law firm, with experience in corporate tax or a transactional tax setting. England & Wales or common law qualification required. A highly competitive salary is on offer (£165,000-£210,000 as a guide), alongside a clear path for development and a supportive, collaborative working environment.
