A leading global financial institution is seeking a Tax Counsel to join its London-based legal team. This is a fantastic opportunity for a high-calibre tax lawyer to transition in-house and provide strategic advice on a wide range of UK and international tax issues.

Ideal Candidate Profile:

  • 3–8 years’ PQE (guideline range, but candidates outside this range may also be considered)
  • Strong training and experience from a Magic Circle or Tier 1-ranked law firm
  • Deep expertise in UK corporate tax, with experience in cross-border transactions, M&A, and/or structured finance
  • Commercially astute, with the ability to work closely with senior stakeholders across legal, finance, and business teams

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide high-level strategic tax advice to the business, focusing on complex cross-border transactions and structures
  • Work closely with internal teams, including legal, compliance, and finance, to ensure robust tax governance and risk management
  • Advise on changing tax regulations and their business impact (e.g. OECD BEPS, Pillar 2, DAC6)
  • Manage external advisors and interactions with HMRC
