Job summary

Armstrong Watson is recruiting a Tax Compliance Assistant to join our Leeds office (also Carlisle, Penrith, West Cumbria or Leeds). You will enter tax information into our Tax software for review by a Tax Compliance Manager, assist with complex areas such as Profit Sharing and CGT, and send reminders to clients for missing information.

The role suits ATT or Qualified by Experience candidates who thrive in a fast-paced team environment and are keen to develop within tax compliance.

Qualifications

• ATT qualified (desirable) but "Qualified by Experience" candidates will also be considered for this position.
• A full UK Driving Licence.
• Experience of working in an Accounting /Tax Compliance capacity at an Accountancy Practice.
• Comfortable working in a fast paced environment.
• A dedicated team player and willing to assist colleagues within the team where possible.
• Able to prioritise workloads under strict deadlines and work well under pressure.
• Able to use initiatives and have great organisation/problem solving skills.
• Keen to become part of a dynamic team.

Responsibilities

• Sending reminders to clients for required / missing information.
• Reporting any HMRC compliance enquiry notices to the Tax Compliance Manager.
• Providing support and training on Tax data entry to Tax Compliance Trainees.

The Role

We are now recruiting for a Tax Compliance Assistant to join our office in either Carlisle, Penrith, West Cumbria or Leeds, and be part of the wider Tax Service Line.
