A leading audit, tax, and advisory firm is seeking an Associate for their Trusts Tax team in Birmingham. The role involves managing a portfolio of trust and estate clients, conducting technical research, and engaging in compliance and advisory tasks. Candidates should have a working knowledge of Trusts Tax, a professional qualification (ATT), and some tax experience. Our GT Private Assurance - Trusts and Estates team specialises in managing all aspects of the tax affairs of trusts and estates. You will manage a client portfolio, deal directly with trustees and beneficiaries, prepare annual trust and estate accounts and tax returns, and handle other HMRC reporting, such as Inheritance Tax reporting and the trust registration service. You will also work on advisory projects, ranging from addressing day-to-day queries to preparing tax computations for non-UK trusts, and advising on complex structuring projects and family wealth planning.
Building strong relationships quickly is essential, as is a passion for both compliance and advisory work. Our Tax practice comprises over 15 teams with more than 40 partners, serving clients across sectors including media, entertainment, technology, finance, and non-profit. We focus on understanding our clients' issues and helping them do what is right, despite challenges, supported by a solutions-oriented environment.

The minimum criteria include a professional qualification (ATT) with post-qualification experience. Desirable skills include some years of tax experience and company accountant experience, but don't worry if you don't meet every requirement; we'll help you develop along the way.
