Overview of the role

We are seeking a highly motivated Associate to work across our Tax Compliance and Tax Advisory teams. This role is ideal for someone who is keen to gain broad exposure across a variety of tax disciplines and financial services clients.

This position is seeking an individual who is part-qualified (early to mid-stage) in their ACA qualification. Candidates who do not fulfil this criterion will be rejected.

You will play an integral role in delivering client projects, working closely with senior consultants and partners to provide high-quality tax advice and compliance solutions. From the outset, you will be entrusted with meaningful responsibility, supported by continuous training and mentorship to help you grow.

Key Tasks and Responsibilities

  • Support the delivery of client tax engagements across CT, VAT, Operational Taxes, International Taxes and Tax Advisory workstreams.
  • Conduct technical tax research, draft reports, memos, and client deliverables.
  • Prepare and review documentation including tax computations, regulatory submissions, and data analysis.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver integrated solutions to complex tax problems.
  • Monitor regulatory updates and contribute to internal knowledge sharing and training initiatives.
  • Participate in client meetings and assist in capturing key actions and follow-ups.
  • Help maintain project trackers, timelines, and risk registers to ensure smooth execution.
  • Assist in developing templates, tools, and frameworks to enhance operational efficiency.
  • Ensure accurate record-keeping and compliance with internal quality standards.

Requirements

  • Must have Right to Work in UK till 2028 and available to start September 2025.
  • Currently studying towards the ICAEW ACA Qualification, having completed at least all certificate papers.
  • Minimum 1-2 years prior experience working within tax, with a strong understanding of tax principles and practical application in areas such as compliance, advisory, or reporting.
  • Confident, professional presence with strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build rapport quickly.
  • A proactive and tenacious attitude with a willingness to take ownership and follow through on tasks.
  • Comfortable working independently and collaboratively within a small, agile team.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a high level of attention to detail.
  • Data-driven mindset, with the ability to take initiative within a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Clear and strong understanding of how to deliver tax advice to clients.
  • Receptive to feedback and committed to continuous personal and professional development.

Preferred

  • Familiarity with financial services tax regulations and financial reporting.
  • Experience in Big 4 or comparable professional environment.
  • Experience working within a tax advisory team.
  • Fluency in another language.

  • On-site, Chancery Lane, London.
