This is an advisory-only role; there is no compliance involved.

You will work on a variety of interesting projects, including tax structuring of trade sales, private equity investments, management buyouts, IPOs, carve-outs/demergers, and related planning.

This role may suit you if you have experience advising shareholders and their companies on transactions, regardless of whether your background is primarily corporate or private client tax.

You will benefit from working with a team of approachable, friendly, and supportive colleagues who are dedicated to delivering exceptional client service with technical excellence and a practical, commercial approach.

The role is within our GT Private South & London Advisory Tax team, which handles transactions and traditional private client advice for high-net-worth individuals. There is flexibility for team members to work across both areas.

Role responsibilities include:

  1. Providing expert tax advice to mid-market businesses and their shareholders.
  2. Advising on tax implications and structuring of acquisitions, disposals, and business separations.
  3. Building trust and respect from clients by delivering high-quality advice on time.
  4. Leading client projects and being the main contact, coordinating with the wider tax team.
  5. Mentoring and supporting the development of junior team members.
  6. Leading client meetings and confidently addressing queries.
  7. Offering proactive and reactive solutions to clients' tax issues and cross-selling services within the GT network.

Candidate requirements:

  1. Professional qualification (CTA / ACA / ACCA or equivalent).
  2. Experience advising on complex tax matters and transactions.
  3. Interest in personal development and team growth.

Preferred but not essential skills include:

  1. Enhancing the firm's profile externally.
  2. Business development and proposal writing experience.
