Tax Assistant Manager – Global Mobility Services

Base Location: North of England / Midlands / South of England / London with a network of 20 offices across the UK.

Our GMS teams provide comprehensive, 360-degree services, including tax technical advice, team leadership, and client engagement.

You will advise on complex personnel challenges, such as cross-border, remote, and virtual assignments, collaborating with experts in tax, immigration, and mobility administration, utilizing advanced technology tools to create opportunities for clients and your career growth.

What will you be doing?
  • Building and maintaining strong client relationships.
  • Serving as the primary contact for assigned clients.
  • Reviewing tax returns and preparing/reviewing Income Tax/NIC calculations.
  • Conducting arrival and departure briefings.
  • Supporting client service teams for smooth operations.
  • Preparing written advice and guiding clients on GMS issues.
  • Managing advisory projects for clients.
  • Providing clients with updates on GMS developments.
  • Participating in business development and proposal activities.
  • Managing and mentoring junior staff.
  • Handling large and mid-sized client accounts.
What will you need to do it?
  • ATT qualification or equivalent professional qualification.
  • Experience in international tax services, particularly UK Expat tax, including tax filings and advisory roles.
  • Experience managing global assignee populations, immigration, social security, and compensation across countries.
  • Energetic, committed, and ambitious mindset.
  • High personal responsibility and accountability.
  • Ability to accept constructive feedback.
  • Strong analytical skills to identify core issues and evaluate information.
  • Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to uphold KPMG’s reputation through quality work and expertise.
  • Passion for international tax work and leadership in global service teams.
  • Excellent organizational skills and initiative.
