Job summary

Headstar in North Leeds seeks a Tax Assistant to manage a portfolio of around 150 personal tax clients, including High-Net-Worth Individuals, company directors and partnerships. You will prepare and review personal tax returns, answer client queries and provide tax advice where appropriate.

Join a supportive tax team with genuine client exposure, and enjoy a modern, hybrid-working environment with on-site parking. Around 18 months+ practice experience is welcomed.

Qualifications

• At least 18 months' practice experience in accountancy/tax
• Experience preparing personal tax returns
• Strong communication and client management skills
• Proactive and organised approach
• Professional attitude and workload ownership

Responsibilities

• Manage a portfolio of personal tax clients
• Prepare and review personal tax returns
• Respond to client queries and provide tax advice
• Manage payment reminders and client correspondence
• Liaise with HMRC on queries
• Collaborate with solicitors, accountants, and financial advisers
• Support with Making Tax Digital quarterly submissions
• Assist with corporation tax computations and CT600s
• Contribute to smooth day-to-day tax department operations
