Role purpose
To provide comprehensive indirect tax compliance services to Arch Insurance across the UK and Europe and support the UK and EMEA tax teams with ad-hoc tasks.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Initial preparation and filing of all non-UK premium tax returns in conjunction with external advisors, including regular reconciliations to ledgers.
  2. Preparation of tax authority information filings and other ad hoc requests.
  3. Support the Indirect Tax Manager with quarterly UK premium tax filings.
  4. Monitor, review, and implement process efficiencies and controls, supporting the identification, implementation, and maintenance of tax technology tools.
  5. Coordinate with internal teams, tax authorities, external auditors, and advisers.
  6. Serve as the first point of contact for insurance premium tax queries, liaising with underwriters and brokers.
  7. Stay updated on premium tax developments.
  8. Assist the wider tax team with ad-hoc tasks and projects across UK, EMEA, and Group.

Qualifications

Accounting or tax qualification preferred; relevant experience may suffice.

Experience

  • Insurance experience – strongly preferred.
  • Premium tax compliance and technical knowledge – strongly preferred.
  • Experience with other indirect taxes – advantageous.
  • Strong MS Excel skills for data analysis and extraction – essential.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite – essential.
