Job summary

Michael Page is seeking a Tax Analyst for a major international business with a strong UK presence, covering corporate tax, VAT, employment taxes, customs and environmental taxes.

The role offers exposure to both compliance and advisory work within a fast-paced corporate environment and includes study support for CT/ATT qualifications.

Qualifications

  • ATT or AAT qualified, or studying towards a recognised tax or accounting qualification.
  • Experience in accountancy practice, tax consultancy or in-house tax team.
  • Exposure to UK corporation tax, VAT and/or employment taxes.

Responsibilities

  • Support the UK tax team across corporation tax, VAT, employment taxes, customs and environmental taxes.
  • Gather, process and analyse financial and tax data to support compliance obligations.
  • Assist with monthly, quarterly and annual tax reporting requirements.
  • Upload and maintain data within tax compliance software.
  • Support the preparation of corporation tax and indirect tax returns.
  • Identify tax-sensitive transactions and ensure appropriate tax treatment.
  • Reconcile tax payments and prepare payment requests for approval.
  • Assist with monitoring legislative developments and assessing impact of tax law changes.
  • Support the implementation of new tax processes and controls.
  • Assist with the ongoing digitalisation and automation of tax processes.
  • Liaise with colleagues across finance, tax and the wider business.
  • Support administrative tax compliance activities and monitor key filing deadlines.

Description
  • Support the UK tax team across corporation tax, VAT, employment taxes, customs and environmental taxes.

Profile
  • ATT or AAT qualified, or actively studying towards a recognised tax or accounting qualification.
  • Experience gained within an accountancy practice, tax consultancy or in-house tax team.
  • Exposure to UK corporation tax, VAT and/or employment taxes.
  • Strong analytical skills with excellent attention to detail.
  • Ability to communicate tax matters clearly within a commercial environment.
  • Demonstrable interest in developing a long-term career within taxation.
  • Enthusiastic, proactive and willing to take ownership of responsibilities.
  • Strong Excel skills and confidence working with financial data.
  • Interest in technology, automation and process improvement.
  • Experience with SAP, Thomson Reuters Onesource, Alteryx or Power BI would be advantageous but is not essential.
