Job summary

Carpenter Box in Worthing is seeking a Tax Manager for our Advisory Group. You’ll provide specialised corporate tax guidance to SMEs and owner-managed businesses and support international tax projects. The role requires strong technical tax knowledge and the ability to deliver practical advice to clients.

CTA preferred, but ACA/ACCA/ATT candidates with relevant corporate tax experience will be considered. You’ll work with Directors and Partners to develop client solutions and train junior staff

Qualifications

• Proven experience advising SMEs and owner-managed businesses on corporate tax.
• Strong technical knowledge of corporation tax, corporate reorganisations, shareholder planning, and business tax advisory.
• Experience reviewing complex corporation tax computations and returns, with the ability to identify tax planning opportunities.
• Strong client relationship management and communication skills, with the ability to deliver clear and practical advice.
• CTA qualified is advantageous; however, ATT, ACA, or ACCA qualified candidates with relevant corporate tax experience will also be considered.

Responsibilities

• Liaising and corresponding with HMRC in respect of clearance applications, enquiries etc
• Drafting reports and letters of advice for a number of tax advisory issues
• Preparing calculations to support advice
• Liaising with clients and attending meetings with other team members
• Training and reviewing the work of more junior members of staff
• Providing support to Directors and Partners in the Tax Advisory Group
