Overview

We are seeking a knowledgeable and detail-oriented Tax Advisor to join our Accounts Practice team. The ideal candidate will possess experience of preparing personal tax returns in an accountancy practice. They will have experience of various accounting software such as QuickBooks, Sage, and Xero. As a Tax Advisor, you will play a crucial role in providing clients with comprehensive tax planning and compliance services, ensuring they navigate the complexities of tax regulations effectively. Desirable but not essential would be experience of preparing Capital Gains Tax computations and trust return preparation. Mixed tax ability for personal and corporate tax would also be advantageous.

Responsibilities
  • Prepare and review tax returns for individuals and businesses, ensuring accuracy and compliance with current tax laws.
  • Provide expert advice on tax planning strategies to minimise liabilities and optimise financial outcomes for clients.
  • Conduct thorough financial analysis to identify trends, discrepancies, and opportunities for tax savings.
  • Assist clients with accounts payable processes and ensure timely payments are made.
  • Utilise accounting software (IRIS, QuickBooks, Sage, Xero) to maintain accurate financial records and facilitate efficient reporting.
  • Collaborate with clients to gather necessary documentation for tax preparation and provide guidance on financial accounting practices.
  • Stay updated on changes in UK tax legislation and best practices within accountancy practice.
  • Hours: 20 hours per week, Monday through Friday.
Qualifications
  • ATT qualified or equivalent in tax compliance.
  • Strong knowledge of UK personal tax legislation.
  • Proficiency in accounting software such as IRIS, QuickBooks, Sage, or Xero is essential.
  • Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex financial data effectively.
  • Strong organisational skills with meticulous attention to detail. Able to plan, prioritise and manage own workload.
  • Competent in using Microsoft.
  • Ability to communicate complex information clearly to clients from diverse backgrounds.
