Job description

This global insurer is looking for a tax specialist to join on a 12-month maternity leave contract. You will join the group tax accounting team to provide support on tax compliance and reporting for their group companies. Core responsibilities will include:

  • Preparing the annual UK corporation tax returns end to end, including group relief, with support from an Assistant Tax Advisor.
  • Making timely CTSA payments on account.
  • Preparing tax disclosures for UK and international group and subsidiary statutory accounts at both year-end and half-year periods.
  • Quarterly tax reporting and assisting with the preparation of syndicate returns and information submitted to Lloyd's.
  • Reviewing PSA returns prepared by the Finance team and managing and overseeing a more junior Tax team member.
  • Working closely with third parties and internal stakeholders.
  • Collaborating with external advisors and other group companies in the preparation of UK and international tax provisioning and compliance.
  • Providing support to the rest of Group Tax for other projects and business initiatives as required.

This broad role requires a tax accountant with strong reporting and compliance experience, ideally gained within the insurance market. Candidates with financial services experience and international tax experience will also be considered. You should be available at short notice.
