Overview

Our private client and tax team is looking to hire a Tax and Accounts Manager in Guildford. The successful candidate will join a highly respected team dedicated to private wealth advice, UK and international tax planning, and asset protection, advising individuals, family offices, family businesses, and fiduciaries. The team benefits from the support of leading practitioners across various practice areas.

Responsibilities

The role involves:

  • Undertaking fee-earning work and contributing to the division's profitability.
  • Supporting the development of the firm in line with its business plan and shared purpose.
  • Delivering high-quality, compliant legal and tax services ethically.
  • Assisting the Trust and Tax Director and providing tax/accountancy support to the Private Client team.
  • Liaising with clients, intermediaries, and tax authorities effectively.
  • Identifying tax-planning opportunities for clients.
  • Supporting the development of Trainee Trusts & Accounts Managers.
  • Preparing trust and estate accounts, tax computations, HMRC forms, and various reports for UK and overseas tax compliance.
Essential & Desirable Criteria
  • Enthusiastic, motivated to learn, and eager to expand knowledge.
  • Strong team player with collaborative approach.
  • Proficient in business information systems, especially MS Excel.
  • Near completion of ATT qualification (or equivalent) and relevant legal knowledge.
  • Receptive to change and adaptable.
  • Ability to work under pressure, plan, prioritize, and understand fee earner needs.
  • Aiming to achieve Associate level competencies.
