About The Role

We have a great opportunity to join the tax team at TFG London as a Tax Accountant, supporting the finance and tax obligations across our brands, Phase Eight, Whistles, Hobbs Inside Story, and White Stuff. Our brands are growing both in the UK and internationally, and this role involves working with the Head of Tax to ensure all tax compliance and reporting requirements are met. You will handle both direct and indirect tax matters and play a key role in improving existing processes.

What you will be doing

  1. Overseeing the preparation and submission of UK corporation tax returns and calculating payments on account.
  2. Assisting with group reporting processes, including tax provisions.
  3. Supporting the Head of Group Tax with tax advice for the business.
  4. Supporting the finance team with VAT and indirect tax queries.
  5. Assisting with HMRC audits and overseas tax authority queries.
  6. Staying updated on tax legislation developments and their impact on the business.
  7. Building relationships with internal teams and external stakeholders like HMRC, auditors, and tax advisors.

What you will need

  1. Qualified accountant or chartered tax advisor.
  2. Experience in direct tax compliance.
  3. Some exposure to indirect tax and VAT.
  4. In-house experience, preferably in retail or consumer sectors.
  5. Ability to prioritize and meet deadlines.
  6. Self-motivated with minimal supervision.
