Tarmac Trading Ltd is seeking an experienced Tax Accountant to join their Birmingham-based team. This hybrid role involves indirect tax compliance, statutory accounts preparation, and collaboration with business stakeholders to ensure high-quality outputs. Ideal candidates will possess strong tax knowledge combined with accounting expertise and excel in a dynamic team environment.

We are currently looking for an experiencedTax Accountantto join our large friendly team based in Birmingham. Although the role is based at our Solihull Head Office, we are currently employing a flexible, hybrid working model (2 days per week in the office). This role is part of our Statutory Accounts and Tax team so offers the opportunity to get involved in the broader statutory accounts programme as well as having a specific focus on Tarmac's indirect taxes.

Main Responsibilities
The Tax Accountant will aspire to be a subject matter expert for R2R on tax, supported by the Assistant Manager, partnering with relevant key business stakeholders in order to prepare and submit accurate returns for Tarmac'sindirect taxes on a timely basis.
Preparing relevant reporting of effective financial information and management accounting at each month end and through the month as required. Part of a highly competent team, taking the lead on preparation of tax compliance and working closely with the rest of the team, also providing support to the wider statutory accounts and tax team, working in collaboration with them around any tax compliance deadlines, to enable the team to deliver the statutory accounts timetable. Contributing to the team's high quality output and maintain accurate recording of transactions and ensure accounting is in line with CRH accounting policies and accounting standards, with the support of Assistant Manager.

A part qualified individual or someone who is actively studying (ACA / ACCA / CIMA or CTA )
