Location: UK (Location and Working Arrangement TBC)

Salary: Competitive + Benefits

About the Role:

We're recruiting on behalf of a well-established professional services organisation seeking an experienced Tax Accountant to join its Finance team.

This is a broad and influential role, responsible for overseeing tax compliance, reporting, governance and advisory activities across UK and international operations.

Working closely with senior Finance leadership, HR, Payroll, Legal and operational teams, you'll play a key role in ensuring the organisation meets its tax obligations while providing practical, commercially focused advice to support business decisions.

The position offers exposure to a diverse range of tax matters, including corporate and partnership tax, VAT, international tax and employment taxes. You'll also contribute to strategic business initiatives, identify opportunities to improve existing processes and help strengthen tax governance across the organisation.

This opportunity would suit a technically strong tax professional who enjoys variety, takes ownership of their responsibilities and is confident working with senior stakeholders in a complex professional services environment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead and coordinate tax compliance, reporting and governance activities across UK and international operations
  • Ensure tax obligations are met accurately and within statutory deadlines
  • Support the preparation and review of corporation tax computations, returns, provisions and year-end disclosures
  • Oversee partnership tax requirements, including LLP tax computations, profit allocations and partner reporting
  • Manage VAT compliance across UK and international entities, including returns, registrations and reporting obligations
  • Provide technical VAT advice to internal stakeholders, translating complex requirements into clear, practical guidance
  • Coordinate international tax matters, including transfer pricing, withholding taxes, double taxation treaties and overseas compliance
  • Work closely with HR and Payroll on employment tax matters, including PAYE, National Insurance, benefits and international mobility
  • Manage relationships with HMRC, overseas tax authorities and external tax advisers
  • Monitor changes in tax legislation and assess their implications for the business
  • Provide tax advice on commercial arrangements, restructurings, acquisitions and international expansion
  • Develop and maintain effective tax policies, controls and governance frameworks
  • Identify opportunities to improve tax processes, reporting systems and operational efficiency
  • Support wider business stakeholders with tax-related queries, guidance and training
Candidate Profile:
  • CTA qualified, or ACA/ACCA qualified with significant relevant tax experience
  • Strong technical knowledge across corporate tax, VAT and wider UK tax compliance requirements
  • Experience working within a complex corporate, partnership or professional services environment
  • Understanding of partnership or LLP taxation would be particularly advantageous
  • Exposure to international tax matters, including cross-border transactions and overseas compliance
  • Experience managing tax reporting, governance and regulatory obligations
  • Strong understanding of UK tax legislation and the ability to interpret and apply legislative changes
  • Confident communicating technical tax matters to senior stakeholders and non-finance colleagues
  • Commercially aware with the ability to balance compliance requirements with wider business objectives
  • Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities and deadlines
  • Proactive, analytical and detail-oriented, with a strong sense of accountability
  • Comfortable working collaboratively across multiple departments and with external advisers

Candidates with equivalent professional experience and demonstrable technical expertise will also be considered.

We welcome applications from candidates of all backgrounds and are committed to inclusive and equitable recruitment practices.
