Our client is an ambitious group of companies with a diverse range of interests based in Belfast. They are currently seeking an experienced Tax Accountant to join them, ensuring key objectives are met in the area of tax and VAT. This role offers hybrid working.

Responsibilities:

• Preparation of group UK and ROI Corporation Tax returns.

• R&D claim preparation and submission .

• Review UK and ROI VAT returns for accuracy, provide advice on VAT processes and VAT treatment of transactions.

• Monitor and support HMRC and Revenue Commissioner compliance across the group.

• Provide employment advice within the group to ensure compliance with HMRC / Revenue Commissioner obligations.

• Liaise with HMRC as required to maintain tax compliance.

Criteria:

• Experienced in preparation of corporation tax returns (UK and ROI).

• Extensive knowledge of UK and ROI VAT regulations.

• Knowledge of employment taxes.

• Self-starter with ability to exercise initiative and judgement to resolve problems.

• Ability to plan and prioritise workload to achieve objectives.

• Accountancy qualification is desirable but not essential.

Salary is in the region of £50-65k depending upon experience.
