Job summary

Burnley FC in the Community are seeking a Targeted Intervention Coordinator to deliver and coordinate targeted programmes across Burnley, Pendle and East Lancashire. The role focuses on Police Partnerships Project and Premier League Inspires, with 1:1 and group work, safeguarding, and collaboration with schools and partners.

The post holder will provide day-to-day leadership to PL Inspires Mentors, ensure data capture in Salesforce, and contribute to programme development and funding compliance.

Qualifications

• Experience delivering targeted interventions, mentoring or youth work with vulnerable or at-risk young people.
• Experience delivering 1:1 sessions and group work in school or community settings.
• NVQ Level 3, A-Level or equivalent demonstrating specialist knowledge of youth work or mentoring.

Salary: £26,500 - £29,000 per annum

Contract Type: Fixed-Term until 31st August 2027

Working Pattern: 35 hours per week (Mon-Fri)

About the Role:

The Targeted Intervention Coordinator is responsible for delivering and coordinating targeted programmes within Burnley FC in the Community’s Targeted Intervention department, with a specific focus on the Police Partnerships Project (It’s Your Turf) and the Premier League Inspires programme. The postholder will deliver high quality 1:1 interventions, group sessions and mentoring, while providing day to day coordination and leadership to PL Inspires Mentors.

Working collaboratively with colleagues, schools, multi‑agency partners and statutory services, the postholder will support vulnerable and at‑risk young people across Burnley, Pendle and East Lancashire. They will ensure programmes are delivered safely, effectively and in line with organisational objectives, funding requirements and safeguarding standards. The role contributes to improving wellbeing, engagement, aspirations and life opportunities for young people facing disadvantage, risk or inequality.

Key Responsibilities:

Programme Delivery & Coordination

• Deliver high‑quality 1:1 interventions, group sessions and mentoring as part of the Police Partnerships Project (It’s Your Turf) and Premier League Inspires.
• Coordinate programme delivery across assigned schools and community settings, ensuring sessions are planned, structured and aligned to programme outcomes.
• Support the wider Targeted Interventions team to deliver impactful interventions across additional strands where required.
• Ensure delivery reflects trauma‑informed practice, inclusive approaches and youth‑voice principles.

Partnership & Stakeholder Engagement

• Work collaboratively with Lancashire Police, schools, statutory agencies and community partners to support targeted interventions and multi‑agency responses.
• Support the Targeted Interventions Manager with school engagement, acting as a secondary contact for selected schools.
• Represent Burnley FC in the Community at multi‑agency meetings, panels and partnership forums where appropriate.
• Build positive relationships with young people, families, school staff and external partners to strengthen programme impact.

Performance, Monitoring & Reporting

• Record all delivery, attendance, case notes and outcomes using Salesforce and other organisational systems.
• Produce high‑quality programme reports for the Premier League Charitable Fund, Police and Crime Commissioner and internal stakeholders.
• Track and monitor programme KPIs, engagement data, case studies and social value metrics.
• Ensure accurate, timely and compliant data entry in line with organisational information governance requirements.

Funding & Programme Development

• Support the Targeted Interventions Manager with funding applications, evidence gathering and programme development.
• Deliver against existing funding requirements, ensuring all programme activity meets contractual obligations.
• Contribute to identifying needs, gaps and opportunities for programme growth and innovation.

People Management & Leadership

• Provide day‑to‑day line management, supervision and support to Premier League Inspires Mentors.
• Conduct regular check‑ins, welfare conversations and performance discussions with staff.
• Support staff to deliver safe, inclusive and high‑quality interventions.

Safeguarding

• Screen referrals alongside the Safeguarding Manager, ensuring appropriate triage and decision‑making.
• Record, report and elevate safeguarding concerns in line with organisational policies and statutory requirements.
• Promote safe working practices and contribute positively to a safe environment for young people and staff.

General

• To understand and implement the Charity’s Safeguarding policy, procedures, and best practice guidelines in your role. To use this understanding to ensure safe working practices, appropriate reporting of concerns and contribute positively to a safe environment.
• To be able to work flexible hours where the role of the job requires. You may be required to work the occasional match day which may fall on a weekend or evening.

About You:

To be successful within this role, you will have:

• Full clean driving licence and access to own transport.
• NVQ Level 3, A‑Level or equivalent experience demonstrating specialist knowledge of youth work, mentoring or community engagement.
• Experience delivering targeted interventions, mentoring or youth work with vulnerable or at‑risk young people.
• Experience delivering 1:1 sessions and group work in school or community settings.
• Understanding of local population needs and inequalities across Burnley, Pendle and East Lancashire.
• Ability to build positive relationships with young people, schools, police partners and multi‑agency stakeholders.
• Experience monitoring, evaluating and assessing project performance.
• Strong organisational and time‑management skills.
• Good IT skills, including Microsoft Office and digital systems.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team.
• Organises workload effectively, prioritises tasks and uses resources efficiently to meet programme objectives.
• Communicates clearly, professionally and appropriately with young people, colleagues and partners.
• Provides supportive guidance and direction to PL Inspires Mentors to ensure high‑quality delivery.
