Job summary

Burnley FC in the Community is seeking a Casual Football Development Coach to deliver football programmes for ages 3 to 16 across Burnley and Pendle. The role is casual/zero hours with daytime, evening and weekend sessions.

Applicants should hold FA Level 2 in Coaching Football, FA Safeguarding, FA Emergency Aid and UEFA C, plus driving license. DBS checks will be required as part of safeguarding.

Qualifications

• FA Level 2 in Coaching Football is required.
• FA Emergency Aid certification is required.
• FA Safeguarding certification is required.
• UEFA C is preferred/required.

Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality football sessions that engage, enthuse and progress young people.
• Engage, inspire and empower young people to reach their full potential.
• Identify talented individuals involved in the projects and refer them to appropriate pathways.
• Liaise with the Football Development Manager and Football Development Officers and promote programmes.
• Maintain attendance registers, organize fixtures, coordinate transport and collect monies.
• Contribute to monitoring and evaluation processes and assist in improving programme delivery.
• Manage, develop and support coaches and volunteers involved in delivering coaching sessions.
• Work with Burnley FC in the Community and other departments on community initiatives.
• Ensure health and safety procedures are followed across all programmes.

The Role

The Football Development department is looking for highly enthusiastic football coaches to deliver on a range of football programmes, delivered to three (3) to sixteen (16) year olds.

Roles and Responsibilities

Session Delivery & Player Development

• Deliver high-quality football sessions that engage, enthuse and progress young people.


• Engage, inspire and empower young people to reach their full potential.


• Identify talented individuals involved in the projects and refer them to appropriate pathways.

Programme Coordination & Administration

• Liaise with the Football Development Manager and Football Development Officers and proactively promote Football/Sports Development programmes.


• Undertake essential administrative duties to support smooth programme operation, including maintaining accurate attendance registers, organising fixtures, coordinating transport and collecting monies.


• Contribute to monitoring and evaluation processes and support the ongoing design and improvement of programme delivery.

Staff & Volunteer Management

• Manage, develop and support coaches and volunteers involved in delivering coaching sessions.

Partner & Community Engagement

• Work in partnership with BFCitC and Burnley Football Club departments on community initiatives identified by the Head of Football Development, CEO, and Board of Trustees.


• Work effectively with individuals and groups from a wide range of diverse backgrounds.

Health, Safety & Compliance

• Ensure health and safety procedures are implemented and adhered to across all areas of the programme.

General

• To understand and implement the Charity’s Safeguarding policy, procedures, and best practice guidelines in your role. To use this understanding to ensure safe working practices, appropriate reporting of concerns and contribute positively to a safe environment.
