Job summary

E&E Group in Portsmouth is seeking a Tanker Driver to join our team. The role involves driving vacuum tankers, pumping, servicing and cleaning ship systems, and taking a hands-on approach to maintenance and safety.

You will lead on projects, ensure quality, complete documentation, and comply with waste management and health & safety regulations. A valid HGV licence and CPC are required, with ADR if applicable. We value reliability, teamwork, and precise operational execution.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of ship systems is essential.
• Experience with vacuum tankers, pressure washers and pumping systems; hands-on with hand tools.
• Confined space working, MAR pack procedures, and tank/bilge cleaning standards.
• Understanding ship systems; differentiate survey, hot work, and preservation cleaning.
• Holds a valid HGV licence, ADR (if applicable) and CPC.
• Strong team player with communication, planning and organisational skills.
• Reliable, safety focused, and able to maintain high attention to detail under pressure.

Responsibilities

• Drive vacuum tankers and carry out pumping, servicing, repair and cleaning of tanks, bilges, compartments and ship systems.
• Lead and organise staff on projects, ensuring work meets company quality standards and customer expectations.
• Complete all documentation accurately, including customer sign offs and maintain high cleanliness standards on customer sites.
• Undertake specialist cleaning, high pressure jet washing, confined space work and fire sentry duties when required.
• Ensure compliance with waste management regulations, tanker driver regulations, PPE requirements and all Health & Safety procedures.
• Liaise with customers, support service engineers and uphold E&E Group’s standards at all times.
