Job summary

The Tanker Driver role in Portsmouth is a full-time, permanent position with a competitive salary. The Environmental & Engineering Group is seeking a hands-on driver to operate vacuum tankers, perform pumping and tank cleaning on ship systems.

You will lead on projects, ensure quality and safety, complete accurate documentation, and liaise with customers and service engineers while upholding company standards.

Qualifications

• Experience operating vacuum tankers and pumping systems.
• Confined space procedures and MAR pack knowledge.
• Understanding ship systems and cleaning requirements.
• Valid HGV licence, ADR (if applicable) and CPC.
• Strong communication, planning and organisational skills.

Responsibilities

• Drive vacuum tankers and perform pumping, servicing and cleaning of tanks and ship systems.
• Lead and organise staff on projects to meet quality and customer expectations.
• Complete documentation, obtain customer sign-offs and maintain site cleanliness.
• Undertake specialist cleaning, high pressure jet washing, confined space work and fire sentry duties.
• Ensure compliance with waste regulations, tanker driver rules, PPE and Health & Safety procedures.
• Liaise with customers and support service engineers while upholding group standards.

We’re on the lookout for aTanker Driver to join our growing team.

More about the role:

• Drive vacuum tankers and carry out pumping, servicing, repair and cleaning of a wide range of tanks, bilges, compartments and ship systems
• Lead and organise staff on projects, ensuring all work meets company quality standards and customer expectations
• Complete all documentation accurately, including customer sign offs and maintain high cleanliness standards on customer sites
• Undertake specialist cleaning, high pressure jet washing, confined space work and fire sentry duties when required
• Ensure compliance with waste management regulations, tanker driver regulations, PPE requirements and all Health & Safety procedures
• Liaise with customers, support service engineers and uphold Marlin Environmental Services’ standards at all times

Qualifications

About you:

• Knowledge of ship systems is Preferable
• Experienced in operating vacuum tankers, pressure washers and pumping systems, with strong practical skills and confidence using hand tools
• Knowledgeable in confined space working, MAR pack procedures and specialist tank/bilge cleaning standards
• Good understanding of ship systems and able to differentiate between survey, hot work and preservation cleaning requirements
• Holds a valid HGV licence, ADR (if applicable) and CPC
• A strong team player with excellent communication, planning and organisational skills
• Reliable, safety focused, adaptable and able to maintain high attention to detail under pressure
