Overview
Mercure Oxford Hawkwell House is a picturesque boutique hotel, occupying three buildings, two of which are 19th century manor houses bursting with character. The hotel is newly refurbished with a décor based on Oxford style vintage fashion. It sits among 3 acres of private gardens and is 2 miles from Oxford city centre. The hotel has 77 en-suite rooms divided between two buildings, each with a distinct character.
Salary and hours: 39 hours per week, full time, £30,420 per annum.
Location: Iffley, near Oxford city centre and train station. Accessible by a short bus ride or a Riverside Thames Path walk nearby.
Responsibilities
- To present a professional, friendly and efficient impression of the hotel at all times.
- To ensure high standards of presentation are maintained in every area of the hotel and by all staff at all times.
- To prioritise tasks relating to guest comfort, guest satisfaction, or the impression the guest receives of the hotel.
- To be proactive in increasing customers’ loyalty.
- To be aware of guests\' needs at all times and provide knowledge and resources to meet those requirements.
- To maintain a good working relationship with colleagues, creating a team that works well together and with other departments.
- To manage and report emergencies and complaints using hotel procedures.
- To attend meetings and training sessions as required for the position.
- To stay up to date with current market and industry trends.
- To be informed about developments in practice and technologies and to apply this knowledge to drive improvement and innovation in the hotel.
- To train, coach and motivate staff under your responsibility.
- To maintain vigilance regarding fraud, theft and potential security risks.
- To apply and implement all the company’s policies and procedures and relevant legislation in any area of the hotel.
- To apply the Accor Talent & Culture policies and procedures as necessary.
- To ensure department succession planning is carried out effectively.
- To be fully conversant with all facilities and services of the hotel.

Qualifications
- 2+ years of proven Talent and Culture experience
- A university degree in HR and Business Administration or similar
- Excellent attention to detail
- Amazing people skills
- A proactive approach to work
- Initiative to work alone as a self-starter and collaboratively in a team environment with both senior and junior colleagues
- Strong presentation skills, with a keen interest in developing solutions
- Excellent networking and interpersonal skills
