Full Job Description

Help shape the future of leadership by strategically sourcing, assessing, and engaging with the talent who define it.

FWB, headquartered in Edinburgh, is a leading UK-wide boutique Executive Search & Board Advisory firm. We work with clients across various industries on search mandates and offer additional services including management due-diligence, remuneration benchmarking, and executive education through our partnership with the University of Edinburgh Business School.

From our offices in Edinburgh, Aberdeen, and London, we collaborate closely with clients to ensure the appointment of the best talent, backed by insight, rigor, and judgment. We are currently seeking a Researcher / Talent Attraction & Research Consultant to join our high-performing team.

This key role involves working with Recruitment Directors to map markets, identify top-tier talent, and develop search strategies that deliver results across a diverse portfolio of work.

What you’ll do:

  1. Conduct in-depth market research and talent mapping across various sectors and functions.
  2. Identify, engage, and assess potential candidates for executive and non-executive roles in the UK and globally.
  3. Support the development of search strategies, target lists, and outreach approaches.
  4. Collaborate with Directors and clients to understand the brief and commercial context.
  5. Conduct initial interviews with prospective candidates.
  6. Provide insights beyond the candidate list, including competitor benchmarking, organizational structures, and talent trends.
  7. Produce research reports for presentation to Board and C-suite stakeholders.
  8. Assist in preparing pitch documentation.
  9. Support market analysis, psychometric assessments, and investor-backed Management Diligence as part of our services.

What we’re looking for:

  1. A naturally curious, commercially aware researcher or recruitment consultant with excellent attention to detail.
  2. Strong communication skills and professional presence, comfortable engaging with senior stakeholders and candidates.
  3. A structured thinker capable of synthesizing complex information clearly.
  4. Experience in research, recruitment, executive search, or insight roles is preferred, but we welcome candidates from other backgrounds with relevant skills.
  5. A team player with a growth mindset and genuine interest in people, business, and leadership.
