Job summary

CVUK is seeking an experienced Tailoring Designer to join their global fashion manufacturing team. You will design and develop commercial tailoring ranges for established high street retailers, working closely with senior designers and product teams to take concepts through to production.

You will be responsible for creating tech packs, interpreting trends, and collaborating with Far East factories to ensure alignment with customer requirements, target prices and deadlines.

Qualifications

• Minimum 4-5 years' experience designing tailoring.
• Strong experience in women's tailoring.
• Experience working with Far East factories and suppliers.
• Excellent garment construction, fit, fabrics and finishes.
• Proven ability to create accurate tech packs.
• Commercial, trend-led design approach.
• Experience with high street retailers and customer accounts.
• Confident in presenting ranges to customers.
• Excellent organisational and multi-project management skills.
• Willingness to travel to the Far East when required.

Responsibilities

• Design commercial, trend-led tailoring ranges for leading high street retailers.
• Work with established customer accounts understanding retailer handwriting and requirements.
• Research and interpret fashion, fabric, colour and silhouette trends.
• Create detailed tech packs and specs for development and production.
• Collaborate with Far East factories and suppliers throughout development.
• Attend customer meetings and present ranges and new product ideas.
• Develop commercially viable collections with the Senior Designer and product teams.
• Review samples, fits, fabrics and trims with clear comments.
• Travel to Far East factories and suppliers as required.
• Ensure product aligns with customer requirements, prices and deadlines.
• Stay aware of competitive market and emerging high street trends.
• Manage multiple developments and deadlines through the season.
• Build strong relationships with customers, suppliers and internal teams.
