Job summary

GlaxoSmithKline is seeking a Tablet Packaging Team Leader for a 12-month secondment at our Worthing site. You will lead two packaging shifts, ensure safety and quality, coach operators and coordinate with engineering, quality and planning teams to meet production schedules.

You will drive continuous improvement, manage performance and develop talent while upholding GMP standards and company values. The role is on-site in Worthing in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Qualifications

• Experience supervising production or packaging teams in a regulated manufacturing setting.
• Knowledge of Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) and basic safety standards.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills for all levels.
• Experience with performance management, training coordination and shift planning.
• Working knowledge of SAP or equivalent manufacturing/ERP systems.
• GCSEs including maths and English, A-levels or equivalent qualifications.

Responsibilities

• Lead 2 Shift packaging activities (Earlies and Lates) to meet safety, quality and production targets.
• Coach operators and drive continuous improvement across the shift.
• Collaborate with engineering, quality and planning teams to ensure end-to-end supply continuity.
• Manage performance through clear expectations, feedback, and development plans.
• Oversee workforce planning, recruitment activities and capability development.
• Lead root-cause analysis and problem resolution using standard GSK methodologies.
• Ensure deviation handling, investigations and corrective actions return operations to standard.
• Maintain governance through Leader Standard Work and site performance reviews.
• Enter and maintain accurate data in SAP and Workday, supporting Tier 1/2 meetings.
