Job Description Summary

The UK Therapy Area Medical Director for Neuroscience is responsible for driving integrated medical affairs plans for pipeline, launch, and marketed products in the neuroscience therapy area. The role involves developing and leading the medical TA team.

Location:
London Office with Hybrid working (12 days per month in the office)

Major accountabilities:

  1. Manage and develop the performance and development of the Neuroscience TA Medical team.
  2. Effectively incorporate lead metrics to ensure impact of medicines for patients.
  3. Demonstrate enterprise leadership and medical strategy as a key member of the UK Medical Leadership Team.
  4. Drive best-in-class launch preparedness and execution.
  5. Build bold external partnerships beyond traditional healthcare professionals.
  6. Represent Novartis at key external governmental, scientific, clinical, and medical events.
  7. Encourage the utilization of digital technologies for data generation and utilization, in collaboration with HCS.
  8. Ensure country evidence gaps are based on solid customer feedback.

Requirements

  1. Advanced degree in life sciences (MD, PharmD, or PhD preferred).
  2. Significant experience in Medical Affairs within the Pharma/Biotech/Healthcare industry.
  3. Direct people management experience, with a track record of creating positive work cultures, developing talent, and inspiring teams.
  4. Deep understanding of the UK healthcare system.
  5. Experience in launch and pipeline management.
  6. Knowledge of drug development and approval processes, including clinical studies design and execution.
  7. Highly collaborative, capable of working in a matrixed environment.
  8. Business acumen with the courage to challenge the status quo.
  9. Experience in Neuroscience TA is desirable.
