About the role

Join Our Rail Team in Colchester – Fitter Opportunity!

Are you ready to take your mechanical skills to the next level? We have a fantastic opportunity for a Fitter to join our dynamic Rail team at our Colchester depot!

In this hands-on role, you’ll be at the heart of maintaining and repairing our cutting-edge On-Track Machinery (OTMs), ensuring they’re operating at peak performance and reliability. If you thrive in a fast-paced environment and take pride in getting things “right first time,” we want to hear from you!

What you'll be doing

The successful candidate will:

  • Carrying out maintenance and repairs on OTMs in line with company procedures and deadlines.

  • Producing clear verbal and written reports on faults, repairs, maintenance, accidents, and incidents.

  • Ensuring OTMs are reliable and ready for action post-maintenance.

  • Diagnosing faults and delivering effective, first-time fixes.

Who we're looking for

The successful candidate will have the following skills/experience:

  • NVQ level 3 Qualification in either mechanical or electrical engineering
  • A served recognised apprenticeship
  • PTS and DP
  • Able to work to timescales/deadlines
  • Awareness of Health & Safety
  • Stores knowledge
