Hydraulic Systems Technician

Edinburgh area | Full-time | Up to £40,000

We're working with a global engineering company at the forefront of innovation in clean energy and off-highway mobility. Their Edinburgh-based innovation centre is expanding and looking for a Hydraulic Systems Technician to join their growing R&D team.

This is a hands-on, technically diverse role ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced engineering environment. You'll be operating and maintaining hydraulic test rigs, supporting prototype builds, running system performance tests, and playing a key part in developing the next generation of hydraulic technologies for off-highway vehicles.

What you'll do:

Set up and run hydraulic test rigs, instrumentation, and data systems

Troubleshoot and resolve issues with hydraulic systems and rigs

Analyse test data and help improve system performance

Assemble and fabricate prototype systems

Support engineers with field testing and product development

What we're looking for:

Qualification in Mechanical Engineering, Hydraulics or similar

Strong experience with hydraulic systems, testing, or maintenance

Skilled in fault-finding, system assembly, and using test equipment

Comfortable reading schematics and technical drawings

Bonus if you've used CAN bus, 3D CAD, or worked with heavy machinery
