Job summary

Cirrus Selection Limited in Bristol is seeking a Systems Proving Engineer to join a growing naval systems integration and trials team. You will bring equipment from the lab through to sea trials and live firing tests, with UK and overseas travel built into the role.

You'll work on planning, running, and reviewing trials, analyzing data, and supporting safety and lab management in a hands-on, high-stakes environment that shapes real-world defence capabilities.

Qualifications

• Solid experience in systems integration, test, or trials work, ideally in defence, naval, or another safety critical engineering environment.
• Comfortable working across electrical, mechanical, or electronic interfaces.
• Confident communicating with engineers, subcontractors, and management alike.
• Eligible for UK security clearance, meaning British citizenship or dual UK nationality with British citizenship is required.

Responsibilities

• Investigate and resolve design issues using real trials data
• Run post trials data analysis and write up findings
• Prepare and deliver Trials Readiness Reviews, internally and externally

• Support lab management, including risk assessments, asset control, and safety

Systems Proving Engineer

Ever wondered what happens after a system leaves the drawing board and has to prove itself in the real world? That's this job.

You'll join a growing systems integration and trials team working on naval-based air defence systems, taking equipment from the lab through to sea trials and live firing trials. It's varied, hands-on, and genuinely consequential work, with UK and overseas travel built into the role.

What you'll actually do

• Plan, generate, and execute trials alongside systems engineering and design teams
• Investigate and resolve design issues using real trials data
• Run post trials data analysis and write up findings
• Prepare and deliver Trials Readiness Reviews, internally and externally
• Get involved across the full range of testing, laboratory integration, ground trials, harbour and sea trials, firing trials, including some conducted abroad

What you'll need (essential)

• Solid experience in systems integration, test, or trials work, ideally in defence, naval, or another safety critical engineering environment

Nice to have (desirable, not essential)

• Exposure to MBSE tools such as DOORS, Rhapsody, or RTC
• Some Python or scripting experience
• Background in missile systems, network integration, or design verification and acceptance testing
