Job Description

This role is for a Project Engineer reporting to the Project Engineering Manager. The successful candidate will assist the Vertical Lift Chief Engineer in delivering the Vertical Lift (VL) programme objectives, ensuring activities are coordinated, managed, and reported effectively. The position is primarily based in Bristol, with Yeovil as a secondary location, and involves occasional travel. Hybrid working options are available.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Coordinate engineering teams across multiple skill areas, including internal and external resources and customers.
  • Develop and maintain Supplier Statements of Work (SSOWs) to meet programme requirements.
  • Promote systems engineering best practices in managing the requirements hierarchy, ensuring quality, compliance verification, traceability, and appropriate allocation.
  • Work with programme leadership to secure necessary approvals for business continuity related to VL contracted services.
  • Coordinate project proposal activities and inform engineering leadership of milestone achievements.
  • Identify metrics and report on functional performance to programme leadership.
Preferred Skills and Experience:
  • Degree in Engineering, Systems Engineering, or related field, with experience in requirements management for systems or services.
  • Experience in Project Planning and Management, strong systems engineering knowledge, good IT skills, and excellent customer-facing skills.
  • Knowledge of Chinook and/or Apache rotorcraft platforms is desirable.
  • Registration with the Engineering Council as an Incorporated or Chartered Engineer (IEng or CEng) or the ability to work towards these titles.
  • Knowledge of Military Airworthiness Authority (MAA) Regulatory Articles.
