Job title: Systems & Platform Engineer

Location: Warton – hybrid depending on business needs – We offer a range of hybrid and flexible working arrangements. Please speak to your recruiter about the options for this particular role.

Salary: £54,793 – £60,326 depending on skills and experience

What you will be doing: You will be responsible for supporting the Programme Delivery Lead and Product Owner to ensure that the team meets its shared objectives.

In addition you will be:

  1. Planning work using agile process
  2. Defining & developing system requirements
  3. Developing systems architectures, capabilities, and concept options
  4. Leading stakeholder engagement through workshops and ad-hoc events
  5. Involvement in System Integration, Test, Evaluation & acceptance definition
  6. Guiding and influencing a diverse and highly skilled community of specialist engineers and team leaders
  7. Leading delivery of command & control and information across the enterprise

Your skills and experiences:

  1. Degree educated in a STEM discipline or equivalent relevant qualifications/experience
  2. Experience of aircraft systems
  3. Experience in use of one or more of the following frameworks: NAF, MODAF, TOGAF, ArchiMate and SysML
  4. Experience with standard architectural modelling tools e.g., Model Based System Engineering (MBSE), Sparx EA, MooD, CAMEO, Capella, Teamcenter
  5. Understanding of Requirements process and associated tools, e.g., DOORS, Teamcenter, ArchiMate, TOGAF

The FCAS Command & Control and Information (C2I) engineering team: You will be part of an FCAS Command & Control and Information (C2I) engineering team delivering the Assessment Phase and Implementation Phase of the Future Combat Air System (FCAS) programme. The team uses an agile work planning process to define system requirements and develop systems architectures, capabilities and concept options for the future combat air system.

The C2I team leads the delivery of command & control and information across the enterprise. The team exploits all sources of information using resilient networking and communications to generate common understanding across all domains and environments. The role is a fantastic opportunity to broaden and develop your career and experience and to support customers/stakeholders and senior roles across the Business.

The role will support and report to the C2I Product Owner. The role aims to provide a broad understanding of our Engineering activities. The role offers the opportunity to work across many of the Business functions and engineering disciplines that are necessary to define requirements, design, develop, test and evaluate our C2I capabilities, technologies and future ways of working.
